Canada complete card for the 2025 IHF Men's Junior World Championship
02 Apr. 2025

The final team to secure a place at the 2025 IHF Men’s Junior World Championship, scheduled to take place in Poland from 18 to 29 June, is Canada.
Following the United States of America’s victory in the junior competition at the IHF Inter-Continental Trophy, an additional spot became available for the North American and Caribbean Handball Confederation (NACHC). This was due to the USA’s prior qualification for the World Championship through their continental competition win.
As a result, the vacant spot will be filled by Canada, who finished in fifth place at the 2024 NACHC Men’s Junior Championship.
This marks the second consecutive occasion that three teams from the NACHC will participate in the IHF Men’s Junior World Championship. In the previous edition, which was hosted in Germany and Greece in 2023, the USA, Cuba, and Greenland represented the Confederation.
For Canada, this will be their second appearance at the IHF Men’s Junior World Championship, with their first participation dating back to 2011 in Greece, where they finished in 22nd place.
In the preliminary round of the 2025 IHF Men’s Junior World Championship, Canada will be placed in Group D, alongside Portugal, Croatia, and Algeria, according to the draw for the preliminary round of the competition, which took place on 28 January in Oslo, on the outskirts of the 2025 IHF Men's World Championship.
