Both home sides progress at Women's IHF Trophy Europe

On Thursday 12 October, the Women's IHF Trophy Europe in Prishtina, Kosovo, continued with five more matches played in both the youth and the junior competitions.

In Group A of the youth (U17) event, home side Kosovo claimed their second straight win, 35:25 against Bulgaria, while Azerbaijan had a rest day. With four points, Kosovo have secured the top position in the group and a semi-final ticket, while the other semi-finalist will be decided in the match between Bulgaria and Azerbaijan, which takes place at 11:00 (local time) on Friday.

In Group B, Bosnia and Herzegovina defeated Great Britain 40:28, while Georgia proved too strong for Albania, 43:21. After two rounds, Bosnia and Herzegovina are through to the semi-final with four points, and will face Albania at 15:00 in their last group game. Great Britain and Georgia, which are
level on two points, will meet in a direct duel for the second semi-final spot at 13:00.

The tightest match of the day took place at the junior (U19) competition, as Kosovo snatched a narrow win against Great Britain, 29:28. In the other game at this age category, Bulgaria had no problems beating Malta, 43:14.

Kosovo have the maximum of four points after two matches and are already through to the final, while Great Britain and Bulgaria, who are tied on two points, will determine the second finalist in their mutual match, at 19:00.
