2026 IHF Men's Club World Championship: How to watch

The 19th IHF Men’s Club World Championship will see 10 teams battle for the world title in the New Administrative Capital in Egypt, with the competition taking place from 24 September to 1 October 2026.
For a third consecutive edition, Egypt will host the world’s leading club competition, with this year’s tournament bringing a new format and an expanded field. Reigning champions FC Barcelona return in search of a record seventh title, while Füchse Berlin, champions in 2015 and 2016, are back with three-time IHF Male World Player of the Year Mathias Gidsel. Veszprém HC, winners in 2024 and runners-up in 2025, will also be among the leading challengers.
Three teams will make their debut in the competition. Moroccan side Montada will represent Africa, Kuwaiti club Burgan SC will make their first appearance, while Los Angeles Handball Club become the fourth team from the USA to feature at the IHF Men’s Club World Championship.
The action begins on 24 September with two Preliminary Qualification matches, as Sydney Uni face Veszprém HC and Los Angeles Handball Club take on Zamalek SC. The winners will advance to the Group Phase, while the losing teams will continue in the competition in a two-legged tie to determine ninth and 10th place.
The Group Phase will feature two groups of four teams, with the group winners advancing to the final and the runners-up meeting in the bronze medal match on 1 October. The final day will also determine every position from first to eighth.
