Elections for various IHF positions will be held at the upcoming 40th Ordinary IHF Congress taking place in Cairo, Egypt from 19 to 22 December 2025.

By the deadline of 21 September 2025, the IHF received numerous candidatures, which are being submitted to the Working Group of Candidatures for IHF Positions for review and confirmation, before the candidatures are presented to the IHF Council.

According to Article 14.3.6 of the IHF Statutes, the Working Group of Candidatures for IHF Positions, which is an independent electoral working group, shall ensure the compliance of the candidates’ applications with the conditions stipulated in the IHF Statutes.

In their last meeting on 4 June 2025, the IHF Council decided on the following composition of the working group:

Chairperson: Mr Jean Brihault (FRA), former IHF Council Member (chairperson of Working Group of Candidatures for IHF Positions in 2013, 2017 and 2021)
