2022 IHF Men’s Super Globe: hummel continue their legacy of giving

The IHF and Official Partner hummel will continue their inspiring ‘Player of the Match’ award initiative at the 2022 IHF Men’s Super Globe, which throws off this week.

This will be the first time the Player of the Match award will be sponsored by hummel at the IHF Men’s Super Globe, as the Danish sports brand has once again decided to draw attention to the inclusivity of sports and the fact that everyone should have the right to play sport.

On these grounds, hummel will be replacing the traditional Player of the Match award by donating handball equipment to girls in Sierra Leone. It is the fourth competition organised under the aegis of the International Handball Federation to feature the reimagined award, after three previous editions of the IHF Senior World Championships: the women’s events at Japan 2019 and Spain 2021 and the men’s competition at Egypt 2021.

“We believe that everyone should have the right to play handball. That’s also why we’re proud to be supporting the FANT project once again. This is a tremendous initiative that will not only continue to grow the sport of handball but also make it more diverse and inclusive – and most importantly, it helps creating a community where girls can stand up for themselves and be stronger together,” says hummel CEO, Allan Vad Nielsen.

In celebration of FANT’s 10th anniversary in 2022 and 10 years of changing the world through sport, hummel has also designed a new jersey for the organisation.

The new jersey will be presented to the Player of the Match after each game at the tournament, just as the players are given the opportunity to pass on the joy of handball by donating handball equipment to the FANT project via hummel.

“The results from previous years have made a huge impact in our mission to improve the girl’s opportunities within handball. Every day we get one step closer, and we’re grateful to share this journey together with hummel. We want to create a community where the girls can be stronger together, and with the support from hummel, we have already come a long way,” says the Head of Administration at FANT, Josephine Touray.
