17 teams ready for inaugural South and Central American Beach Handball Club Championship

Nine men’s teams and eight women’s teams will take part in the inaugural South and Central American Beach Handball Club Championship, which is held in Puerto Madryn, Argentina from 1 to 3 March.

Four countries will be represented in the competition, with hosts Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay each sending teams to the event.

In both the men’s and the women’s tournaments, a group phase will be played, with the top side in each group advancing to the semi-finals. The second and third-placed teams will progress to the play-offs, with the winners also taking a spot among the top four teams in the competition.

The winners of the semi-finals will advance to the finals, due to take place on 3 March.

In the men’s competition, six Argentinian teams will take part in the tournament, alongside multiple Brazilian champions Niteiró, Paraguay’s Club Olimpia and Costa Beach from Uruguay.

In the women’s competition, the six Argentinian teams are also joined by Paraguay’s Club Olimpia and Costa Beach from Uruguay.

Men’s teams: Sol de Mayo (Viedma, Río Negro, Argentina), Club Atlético Unión Argentina (Rosario, Santa Fe, Argentina), Vilo (Buenos Aires, Argentina), IFES (Neuquén, Argentina), Panteras Patagones (Carmen de Patagones, Buenos Aires, Argentina), Asociación Viedmense de Handball (Viedma, Río Negro, Argentina), Niteiró (Brasil), Club Olimpia (Paraguay), Costa Beach (Uruguay).

Women’s teams: IFES (Neuquén, Argentina), Municipalidad de Avellaneda (Buenos Aires, Argentina), Arena Madryn (Puerto Madryn, Chubut, Argentina), Deportivo Goliat (Viedma, Río Negro, Argentina), Cumehue (Trelew, Chubut, Argentina), Escuela Municipal de Viedma (Viedma, Chubut, Argentina), Costa Beach (Uruguay), Club Olimpia (Paraguay)

The games will be available to watch on the Argentinian Handball Federation’s official Youtube channel, while the finals will also be broadcasted on local Argentinian sports channel DeporTV.
