2025 IHF Women's World Championship: Schedule updated with 50 days to go

The teams entered the final straight of their preparations, with the days flying by as the final touches are put in place in the five venues – three in the Netherlands and two in Germany – that are ready to host the biggest handball event on earth.
For the third edition in a row, 32 teams are ready to fight for the big prize, with both powerhouses and underdogs dotting up the final Is before the start of the 27th edition of the IHF Women's World Championship, which will throw off in 50 days.
The updated schedule for this edition has been also released, with all the teams knowing their throw off schedule in the preliminary round, as well as the times of the matches due to take place in the main round.
When the 27th IHF Women’s World Championship throws off on Wednesday, 26 November, Spain will face Paraguay, at 18:00 CET, in the SWT Arena in Trier, while Montenegro take on the Faroe Islands in Group D of the preliminary round of the world handball flgaship competition.
Two matches will also be played in Group C, in the Porsche Arena in Stuttgart, where Serbia face Uruguay and Germany are pit against Iceland, with the throw off hours announced at a later date.
Eight matches will be played on the next day, Thursday, 27 November, when matches are scheduled in the Netherlands, with Romania facing Croatia at 18:00 CET and Denmark meeting Japan at 20:30 CET in the Ahoy Arena in Rotterdam, while Switzerland make their debut against the Islamic Republic of Iran at 18:00 CET and Hungary take on Senegal at 20:30 CET in the Maasport Arena in ‘s-Hertogenbosch.

The final schedule for the 2025 IHF Men’s World Championship, which will take place between 26 November and 14 December 2025, has already been announced, with tickets still being sold for all venues in Germany and the Netherlands, including for the final weekend in Rotterdam

The official anthem of the competition has also been launched. Uniting this edition under the title “Hands Up For More”, the official anthem will set the tone for a thrilling championship. The anthem is performed by Hamburg-based artists Lucille and Bria X, capturing the energy and spirit of the event.
Featuring powerful vocals and a message of empowerment, the song pays tribute to female athletes, urging respect, equality, and recognition in the world of handball and beyond.
