Zambia junior team claim biggest win on day one of IHF Trophy Africa Zone 6

On Monday 6 May, the Men's IHF Trophy Zone 6 Africa opened with eight matches played in Harare, Zimbabwe. Four games took place at the youth competition, and just as many at the junior event.

In Group A of the youth (U18) tournament, home team Zimbabwe took a commanding win against Lesotho, 37:15, while South Africa beat Malawi in a tighter fight, 29:25. In Group B, Swaziland proved too strong for Namibia (29:9), and Zambia beat Mozambique 28:19.

On Tuesday, South Africa meet Zimbabwe at 10:00 (local time), Lesotho face Malawi at 12:00, Namibia play Zambia at 14:00, and Mozambique take on Swaziland at 16:00.

At the junior (U20) competition, Zambia claimed the biggest win on the entire opening day, 62:7 against Namibia. In the same Group A, Lesotho proved too strong for South Africa, 42:25. And in Group B, home side Zimbabwe downed Swaziland 55:18, while Mozambique beat Malawi in a very hard-fought encounter, 30:29.

On day two, Namibia face South Africa at 10:00, Lesotho meet Zambia at 12:00, Mozambique play Zimbabwe at 15:00, and last but not least, Swaziland face Malawi at 16:00.
