Korea – France 26:30 (13:14)
France qualifies for semi-finals
After really amazing 60 minutes France beat the team of Korea with 30:26 in the first quarter-final match of this Women’s Junior World Championship. France is now heading the upcoming semi-finals against the winner of the quarter-final match between Hungary and Poland, while Korea will play the placement round for the places 5 to 8 against the looser. France had the better start and it took them only nine minutes to be in lead with 6:2. But then Korea played it much more concentrated and came back into this match with three goals in a row (5:6 after 13 minutes), and they needed ten more minutes to make this match draw (11:11). After that both competitors were nearly equal so it was a really tight match with only one-goal-lead for Korea and after that for France. So after the first 30 minutes France had a small advantage with a 14:13 lead. After the break the match became more and more exciting and it stayed tight until the 44th minute, when Korea took the first two-goal-lead in this match (22:20). France came back and turned the match again with six goals in a row. That was some kind of pre-decision, as the young Korean players, who tried everything to come back, were too tired during the last ten minutes of this quarter-finals. Best scorer of this match was Grace Zaadi (France) with eight goals.
