Hungary still hungry

In the second quarter-final match of this Junior World Championship Hungary beat Poland with 29:27 and is now heading the upcoming semi-final against France, while Poland will play the placement round for the places 5 to 8 against Korea. Poland had the much better start and was in lead with 8:3 after the first nine minutes. But after a vociferous time-out, when the Hungarian coach emphatically showed up the mistakes of his young players, Hungary started their engines. They turned the match completely and caught up from 5:9 to 10:9 after 16 minutes. After that period it was again a very changeable match. Hungary was leading 13:11, but Poland scored five goals in a row (13:16). After the first really exciting minutes Poland made it to a one-goal-lead (17: 16). After the break it was the expected tight match. None of the two teams where able to extend their lead over two goals, so it came to a thrilling final period. Two minutes before the end it was 27:27 draw, then Hungary scored twice and made it with 29:27 in the end. Best scorer of this match was once again the Hungarian player Kinga Klivinyi with nine goals. „I am totally happy with this success”, said the Hungarian coach Kalman Roth after the match. „Hungary is still hungry for more success.
