IHF Beach Handball Global Tour – Stage 2: match schedule revealed

The match schedule for stage 2 of the 2023 IHF Beach Handball Global Tour, which gets underway next week, from 20 to 22 June, has been released.
A total of 20 matches featuring four men's teams and four women's teams will be played in Hammamet, Tunisia.
The first two days of action will comprise of preliminary, round-robin group games played across three sessions, starting in the afternoon on Tuesday (20 June) and completing on Wednesday (21 June) early evening.
The morning session on Thursday (22 June) will feature the four semi-finals, while the late afternoon/early evening session will feature the medal matches.
Men's competition
Algeria, Tunisia, Togo and Morocco will battle it out in the men's competition across 10 games.
Morocco take on Algeria in the opening preliminary group game (16:20) on Tuesday, followed by Tunisia facing Togo. Day 2 sees Togo against Morocco, with another North African derby between Algeria and Tunisia the final match of the morning session.Â
The second session on Wednesday will pit Algeria against Togo with the hosts then playing Morocco to conclude the preliminary round.
The men's semi-finals will take place at 11:10 and 12:00 on Thursday (22 June) followed by the bronze medal match at 16:20 and final at 18:00.
Women's competitionÂ
Another 10 games will be played in the women's competition with Algeria, Tunisia, Kenya and Mali vying for continental glory.
Opening up the event – and the whole stage itself – on Tuesday will be Algeria taking on Kenya (15:30), followed by the Tunisia vs Mali clash. Wednesday will feature Mali and Algeria and Kenya vs Tunisia in the morning, while Mali and Kenya do battle followed by another North African derby between Tunisia in Algeria to conclude the women's preliminary group.
Opening day three of the stage on Sunday will be the first women's semi-final at 09:30, followed by the second, at 10:20. After a well-earned rest, the bronze medal match will then take place at 15:30 and the final at 16:20.

Officials confirmed
Representatives from Togo, Nigeria, France, Kenya and Tunisia will make up the officials team in Hammamet.
IHF Technical Official Jerome Rolland (France) and IHF Referee couple Mohamed Kamel Drissi and Mohamed Aymen Ben Salah (Tunisia) are joined by fellow technical officials Akossiwa Kafoui Adzonyoh (Togo) and Christopher Adeyemi Olufojude (Nigeria). The referee pairings of Julien Blanco and Dylan Gazeu from France and Kenyan couple Nickson Odhiambo Oguma and Evans Otieno Owino complete the group.
In addition, IHF Beach Handball Working Group Member Sasa Kuburovic will be in attendance, overseeing the event alongside event organiser and technical official Kamel Borgi, President of the Tunisian Beach Handball League and President of the African Handball Confederation (CAHB) Beach Handball Working Group, and his team of staff and volunteers.

About the IHF Beach Handball Global Tour
The IHF Beach Handball Global Tour was launched last year at the 2022 IHF Men's and Women's Beach Handball World Championships in Greece.
It debuted in Gdansk, Poland, in July 2022, with Croatia winning the men's tournament and Spain taking the top spot in the women's tournament.
Stage 1 of the 2023 tour was completed in Brazil in April with both the host nation teams taking the titles.
