India dominate and win titles at the IHF Trophy Zone 2 Asia

The home sides were dominant in the youth and junior tournaments of the Men’s IHF Trophy Zone 2 Asia, which took place in Jaipur, India, from 10 to 14 July 2024. Both Indian teams also booked their tickets to the Men’s IHF Trophy Continental Phase Asia.
The events at both age categories started with round-robin tournaments. In the youth (U18) competition, India took the maximum of six points and finished ahead of Bangladesh (four points), Maldives (two) and Nepal (no points).Â
The best two teams, India and Bangladesh, met in the final match on Sunday 14 July, and the hosts had the upper hand, winning 56:36. Nepal earned bronze after narrowly beating Maldives in the third-place encounter, 31:29.
In the junior (U20) competition, India also won all three games at the opening stage and claimed six points, while Bangladesh had three points, Maldives two points, and Nepal one point. In the final encounter, India defeated Bangladesh 55:25, and in the third-place match, Maldives beat Nepal 33:23.
