Seven teams to fight for the title at the 2025 NACHC Men’s Club Championship

Seven teams will battle it out for the coveted title and a spot at the 2025 IHF Men’s Club World Championship when the 2025 NACHC Men’s Club Championship throws off in Las Vegas, the United States of America.

The seven participating teams are representing five countries – the United States of America, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Greenland and Canada – a record attendance for this competition, which has yielded the representing team of the North America and Carribean Handball Confederation for the IHF Men’s Club World Championship.

So far, the continent has been represented either by Mexican sides or teams from the USA, with the best finish being the ninth place sealed by New York City THC in 2019 and the California Eagles in 2024.

The California Eagles will be aiming to deliver back-to-back wins in the continental competition and secure their second consecutive appearance at the IHF Men’s Club World Championship, as they appointed experienced Spanish coach Dani Gordo for this competition.

Gordo is the current coach of Spanish side Ademar Leon, and was the head coach of the Türkiye men’s national team until January 2025, and will try to help the American side secure another continental title, lending his experience, who saw him lead the Faroe Islands and the Brazil national teams, as well as Egyptian side Al-Ahly over the past years.

The seven teams will be divided into two groups – one of three teams and one of four teams – with the top two sides in each group progressing to the semi-finals, which are scheduled on 7 July. The winners of the two semi-finals will progress to the final, where the winner will be crowned on 8 July.

In Group A, the California Eagles will face two other sides, Timersoqatigiiffiat Sportsforeningen Grønlands Seminariums Sportklub, mostly known as GSS Nuuk from Greenland, and Puerto Rican side Caciques de Palmer.

In Group B, there are two teams from the USA – New York Athletic Club and Los Angeles Team Handball – as well as one team from Mexico, Kraken, and one team from Canada, Caciques de Palmer.

The competition will throw off on the National Day of the United States of America, 4 of July, and will run until 8 July, when the final, the bronze medal match and one placement match will be played.

The winner of the competition will secure the coveted ticket for the 2025 IHF Men’s Club World Championship, which will take place in Egypt.
