IHF President Dr Hassan Moustafa, who is attending the 2026 IHF Wheelchair Handball World Championship in Granollers, took the opportunity to meet former IHF Vice-President Miguel Roca Mas on the sidelines of the competition.
Roca Mas served as an IHF Vice-President from 2009 to 2017, working closely with Moustafa during a period of significant development for international handball.
A prominent figure in Spanish handball, Roca Mas worked at ASOBAL from 1988 and served as President of the organisation from 2003 until 2006. He also held the position of Treasurer of the IHF between 2000 and 2009 before becoming Vice-President in 2009.
Roca Mas remained part of the IHF leadership until the 2017 IHF Congress.
The meeting in Granollers provided an opportunity for Moustafa and Roca Mas to reconnect and reflect on their years of cooperation and their shared commitment to the development of handball.
