2023 IHF Education Weeks conclude with seven webinars in the IHF Management & Wheelchair Handball Education Week

The 2023 IHF Education Weeks concluded in October, with the fifth week of webinars which delivered inside knowledge from the world of handball, with interesting topics ranging from good governance to the secrets of the wheelchair handball, explained by leading specialists.

The 2023 IHF Management & Wheelchair Handball Education Week, took place from 2 to 8 October 2023 and comprised a total of 7 lectures by experts from all around the world, which were split into two thematical blocks. 

The first half of the week focused on different aspects of management in a handball context, while the second half dealt with topics concerning wheelchair handball.

The 2023 IHF Management & Wheelchair Handball Education Week threw off with a transfer-themed webinar, IHF Operations – Transfer and Player Eligibility Regulations and Online Platforms, which was presented by Carmen De Weert and Clemence Ringuet from the IHF Legal Department and Link Development, a leading global technology solutions provider.

The second lecture, presented by Courtney Gahan, an IHF Media Team member and the IHF Social Media Manager, was centred on Social Media for Handball, following the latest trends and developments in Social Media, with pieces of advice for all stakeholders on how to maximise their presence on social media.

SPORTFIVE, the Official Media and Marketing Partner of the IHF took over the next webinar, with Karsten Mahlmann, Senior Vice President SPORTFIVE, Carsten Richter, Senior Director SPORTIVE Media, Global Key Accounts and Christian Hesselbach – Executive Director SPORTFIVE Rightsholder media delivering an excellent webinar with the theme “How to Market Handball in Your Country.”

The last webinar of the first part of this IHF Education Week, regarding management, concluded on Thursday, as James Carr, the Deputy Director of ASOIF, presented a crucial theme in this area – “Good Governance Principles”.

The last three webinars of the week were dedicated to wheelchair handball and the first theme was “Training process of wheelchair players and teams”, which was presented by Danilo Ferreira, Portugal’s wheelchair handball national team coach.

Wael Abdul-Atty, Egypt wheelchair handball national team coach, who was also the Egypt youth men’s coach and the Egypt’s beach handball national team coach took over on Saturday, underlining why “Handball is for Everyone, whether on sandy beaches or even in a Wheelchair!”
 
The 2023 IHF Management & Wheelchair Handball Education Week concluded on Sunday with a focus on the winners of the 2022 IHF Four-a-Side Wheelchair Handball World Championship, Brazil, as their coach, Samuel Macena Vieira, had a webinar titled “Wheelchair Handball Four-a-Side in Brazil.”
