In 2022, the International Handball Federation launched the long-awaited Beach Handball Global Tour, the start of which was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 

The first stage of the 2023 edition of the event took place in Brazil. The second stage was staged in Hammamet, Tunisia from 20 to 22 June, with four national teams participating in each category.
