Norway started their IHF Women’s Youth (U18) World Championship appearances with a bang, finishing in second place in 2010 and in third place in 2012, before dropping to 13th place in 2014. At their sixth consecutive participation in the competition, they will surely aim to improve on the 11th place from four years ago.

In the recently finished IHF Women’s Junior (U20) World Championship, Norway won the gold medal, seriously improving from the W19 EHF EURO 2021, and the Scandinavians will eye more of the same here, after taking the sixth place at the W17 EHF EURO last summer.

A strong core has been kept by Norway from the last tournament, but two of their top three scorers, Ida Fremo (24 goals) and Oda Fikstvedt (21 goals) will not take part in North Macedonia 2022.

However, with Nicoline Jullumstrø and Stine Bore on the provisional roster, Norway will definitely aim to qualify among the top 16 teams in the competition, being favourites in a group where the Czech Republic, Brazil and Uruguay are poised to fight only for the second place.

Key players: Nicoline Jullumstrø (right wing), Stine Mellemstrand Bore (centre back), Emma Helland-Døvle (left back)
