Semi-finals set at Poland/Sweden 2023

The quarter-finals of the 28th IHF Men’s World Championship produced four excellent matches, with France, Spain, Sweden and Denmark progressing to the semi-finals, which will take place in Gdansk and Stockholm.

The first semi-final will see Denmark and Spain rekindle their rivalry, with the two sides having met two years ago in the same competition phase. The match – the last played in Poland in this edition of the IHF Men’s World Championship – will take place in the ERGO Arena in Gdansk on Friday 27 January at 18:00 CET.

The second semi-final is another clash between Sweden and France, with “Les Experts” trying to avenge the loss from the semi-final at Egypt 2021, when the Scandinavian side won 32:26. The match will take place in the Tele2 Arena in Stockholm on Friday 27 January at 21:00 CET.

The schedule for the Placement Matches 5-8 has also been released, with Germany facing Egypt on Friday 27 January at 15:30 CET, while Norway play against Hungary at 18:00 CET. Both matches will be played in the Tele2 Arena in Stockholm before the second semi-final at Poland/Sweden 2023.
