Following the completion of the 2021 IHF Men’s Super Globe quarter-finals, the match schedule for the semi-finals and placement round 5-10 has been confirmed.

Match evaluation and determination of places

Matches shall be evaluated as follows: In case of a draw at the end of the regular playing time, after a break of five (5) minutes there is a first overtime period of 2 x 5 minutes, changing sides halfway through with a one-minute break in-between. Provisions to the contrary set for individual tournaments shall be given priority.

If the match should still not be decided after this overtime period, after a break of 5 minutes, there shall be a second overtime period of 2 x 5 minutes, changing sides halfway through with a one-minute break in-between.

Should the match still not be decided after the second overtime period, it is decided with 7m penalty throws in accordance with Rule 2:2 of the Rules of the Game.

Placement round 5-10

The winners of the groups will be ranked 5th/6th, the second-placed teams will be ranked 7th/8th and the third-placed teams will be ranked 9th/10th. The position will be determined based on the total number of points in the group matches, (2) the goal difference, and (3) plus goals. If classification is not possible, the goal difference of the previous match (regular time) in the tournament will be taken into consideration. If classification is still not possible, a coin toss shall decide.
