IHF Trophy Africa tournaments in Yaounde and Antananarivo now in full swing

The Men's IHF Trophy Zone 4 Africa continued on Thursday 23 May with four more encounters played in Yaounde, Cameroon.
In the youth (U18) tournament, the group stage ended with two matches: Congo beat Chad 45:36, and Cameroon defeated Central African Republic 29:26. As Chad failed to present biometric passports of the players, their results were not considered, so Cameroon, who have four points, and Congo (two points) went through and will meet in the final match on Saturday.
In the junior (U20) competition, Congo proved too strong for Central African Republic, 32:15, and Chad had the upper hand against Democratic Republic of Congo, 35:31. With the maximum of six points after three matches, Chad are ranked first, while Congo have four points, Cameroon are on two points, and Central African Republic and Democratic Republic of Congo have no points.
On Friday, the round-robin event continues with two more games: Central African Republic meet Democratic Republic of Congo, and Congo face Cameroon. Chad have a rest day.Â
And at the Men's IHF Trophy Zone 7 Africa in Antananarivo, Madagascar, the matches of Day 2 were played on Thursday. In the youth event, Madagascar beat Seychelles 49:10, and the home side were also given a 10:0 win over Comoros.Â
So Madagascar lead with four points, Seychelles have two points, and Comoros no points. On Friday, Seychelles are scheduled to meet Comoros.
In the junior tournament, Madagascar defeated Seychelles 42:14, while Reunion were given a 10:0 win versus Comoros. Reunion have four points, Madagascar and Seychelles are on two points, and Comoros have no points. On Friday, Seychelles face Reunion, and Madagascar meet Comoros.Â
