Spain turned the match

Spain won 28:26 against Sweden in the first match of the placement round for the places five to eight. Even though the Swedish team was already leading 12:9 after the first period of this match, Spain caught up and turned the match to their favor. Eleven minutes before the end it looked like Sweden would win as they were leading 22:19. But during the last ten minutes the team from the Iberian Peninsula had the better finish and turned the jaws of defeat into a victory. So now Spain will continue to play for the 5th place against the winner of the match between Slovenia and France, while Sweden waits for the looser to compete with them for place seven. Best shooter of this match was Anders Nilsson, who scored nine times for Sweden.

Placement Round 9 – 12

18:00: Norway – Brasil 34:29 (15:14)

Norway beats Brasil

In the second match of the placement round for the places nine to twelve Norway won against Brasil 34:29. After their loss in the eight final against Denmark, Norway made the second victory in a row and will go ahead to the match for place nine against Portugal. But even though the Norwegian team won with a five-goal-lead, the match was very tight up to the 39th minute. In the aftermath the Norwegian put off to a pre deciding 28:21-lead (51.). The team of South America has to face the match for place eleven against Iran. Best shooter of the match was Matheus Perella, who scored twelve times for Brazil.
