Both home sides secure top positions in Tashkent

The Women's IHF Trophy Continental Phase Asia in Taskhent, Uzbekistan continued on Thursday 9 November with two more matches, one at each age category.
In the youth (U17) tournament, the home team Uzbekistan claimed their third straight win, 34:17 against Hong Kong. As many as 12 Uzbek players put their names on the scoresheet, with Jasmina Uzokboeva becoming a top scorer with six goals.
Uzbekistan have a maximum of six points after three matches, while Hong Kong stay on two points, and Bangladesh have no points. So the hosts have already secured the first place at the competition and will end it on Saturday 11 November, as their match with Bangladesh is scheduled for 15:00 (local time). The day before, Bangladesh and Hong Kong will also face off at 15:00.
The situation is similar at the junior (U19) event, where the Uzbeks have also secured the top position. On Thursday, 12 goals by Sevinch Erkabaeva lifted them to a 45:40 win in a high-scoring encounter against India.
Uzbekistan have six points, and they are well ahead of India (two points) and Hong Kong (zero). On Friday 10 November, Hong Kong play India at 17:00, and on Saturday 11 November, Uzbekistan face Hong Kong also at 17:00.
