FALKEN extends partnership with IHF Menâs World Championship for 2027 and 2029
21 Oct. 2026
The International Handball Federation (IHF) is pleased to announce the extension of its partnership with tyre brand FALKEN, which will continue as an event partner of the IHF Menâs Handball World Championship in 2027 and 2029.
The agreement will see FALKEN partner with the 2027 and 2029 editions of the flagship competition, continuing a collaboration that began at the 2019 IHF Menâs World Championship and also included the 2023 and 2025 tournaments.
The partnership was brokered by SPORTFIVE, the exclusive commercial agency for the worldwide media and marketing rights to all IHF World Championships through 2031.
FALKEN was an official event partner at the 29th IHF Menâs Handball World Championship in 2025, gaining international visibility through LED advertising boards and goal-area signage. The renewed agreement will provide further opportunities for the brand to connect with handball fans around the world.
The cooperation is built on shared values of precision, performance, reliability and the pursuit of excellence, qualities that are central to success in both handball and the automotive industry.
âI am pleased to confirm the continuation of our partnership with FALKEN for the IHF Menâs World Championships in 2027 and 2029,â said IHF President Dr Hassan Moustafa. âFALKEN has been part of our tournaments for several years, and the extension of this partnership underlines our shared commitment to performance and excellence, values that define both our sport and the FALKEN brand.
âI would like to thank FALKEN for its continued trust in the IHF and in the Menâs World Championship. I look forward to welcoming the brand back to our courts in Germany in 2027, and again in France and Germany in 2029.â
For FALKEN, the agreement represents a continuation of its long-term engagement with international handball and an opportunity to strengthen its global presence through one of the sportâs premier events.
âOur shared values, the successful partnerships of previous years and the FALKEN brandâs deep roots in sport provide a strong foundation to continue our commitment,â said Markus Bögner, Managing Director and President of Dunlop Tyre Europe GmbH.
âWe are delighted to partner with the IHF Menâs Handball World Championships in 2027 and 2029 and look forward to the excitement and entertainment they will bring to fans. The extension of our partnership with the IHF enables us to further expand our presence on a global stage and connect with millions of enthusiasts around the world.â
The 30th IHF Menâs Handball World Championship will take place in Germany from 13 to 31 January 2027. Matches will be played in Munich, Stuttgart, Magdeburg, Kiel, Hanover and Cologne under the motto âWhere Handball is Aliveâ.
The following edition, in 2029, will be co-hosted by France and Germany, continuing the competitionâs reach across major handball markets.
