INTERSPORT named as Official Partner of the 2025 IHF Men's World Championship
12 Dec. 2024
The International Handball Federation (IHF) is proud to announce today an official partnership with INTERSPORT, a global leader in sporting goods retail, for the 2025 IHF Men’s World Championship, a partnership brokered by SPORTFIVE, the exclusive marketer of global media and marketing rights for all IHF Men's and Women's World Championship through 2031.
This partnership, facilitated by SPORTFIVE, reaffirms INTERSPORT’s longstanding commitment to handball, which it previously supported as an Official Partner in several other major international competitions.
As part of the partnership, INTERSPORT will be present within the matchday experience at all 112 matches at the 2025 IHF Men's World Championship, which will take place across five venues in Croatia, Denmark and Norway, from LED Perimeter Boards to floor branding and press conference backdrops.
“INTERSPORT is incredibly proud to be the Official Partner of the IHF Men’s World Championship 2025, and to play our part in bringing Europe’s passionate Handball community together,” stated Andy Hogg, INTERSPORT International General Manager, Brand and Marketing. “We pride ourselves on being a global brand with a genuine local impact, meaning it is especially important to be supporting an event in which so many of our local INTERSPORT markets are competing.”
Aligning with INTERSPORT’s ambition to bring sporting communities together and to remain at the heart of sport, the collaboration will bring the brand even closer to its European consumers, with the majority of the 32 competing countries coming from local INTERSPORT markets. It therefore represents a strategic move to elevate INTERSPORT’s vast hyper-local network of stores and motivate consumers to benefit from the expert advice, equipment and community connections found within the brand’s in-store experience.
"The IHF is pleased to acknowledge the partnership signed with Intersport, a key player in sporting goods retail. Once again, the interest provided in handball by such important and reputable companies throughout the world is raising the bar and helping the sport become even more popular. Events like the IHF Men’s World Championship continue to attract more and more interest and are recognised as valuable ones for our partners and we look forward to a fruitful partnership with Intersport,” said Dr Hassan Moustafa, the President of the IHF.
Furthermore, the support of the 2025 IHF Men’s World Championship is part of INTERSPORT’s ongoing strategy – as a leading multi-sports and multi-category retailer - to connect with a range of consumers through different physical and digital experiences, across various sports.
