Following the completion of the quarter-finals, the 2019 IHF Men’s Junior World Championship now has a rest day (Friday 26 July) ahead of the penultimate match day, on Saturday 27 July with the schedule just released.

All games will be played at the Pavillon Municipal de Deportes de Pontevedra - the final day of matches at the venue for Spain 2019.

Match evaluation and determination of places

Semi-Finals

All matches shall be played in accordance with the knock-out system.

In case of a draw at the end of the regular playing time, after a break of five (5) minutes, a first overtime period of 2x five minutes shall be played, changing sides halfway through with a one (1)-minute break in-between. Provisions to the contrary set for individual tournaments shall be given priority.
  
If the match should still not be decided after this overtime period, after a break of five minutes, a second overtime period of 2x five minutes shall be played, changing ends halfway through with a one-minute break in-between.

Should the match still not be decided after the second overtime period, it is decided with 7m penalty throws in accordance with Rule 2:2 of the Rules of the Game.

The winners of the semi-finals shall advance to the final; the losers compete in the bronze medal match (3rd-4th rank).

Placement round / Placement matches

In case of a draw at the end of the regular playing time, direct 7m penalty throws shall be executed to decide the match in accordance with Rule 2:2 of the Rules of the Game.
