International press conference about Egypt 2021

Following the statement from International Handball Federation (IHF) President Dr Hassan Moustafa about the 27th edition of the IHF Men’s World Championship last week, the IHF is holding a virtual international press conference on Thursday 3 December, starting at 12:00 CET.

The IHF has invited the teams participating in the World Championship to attend the conference with their President, the captain of the team, the head coach as well as at least one medical staff member/team physician and encourages media worldwide to join the press conference as well.

Speakers at the press conference, besides IHF President Dr Moustafa, will be, amongst others, Egyptian Minister of Youth and Sports Dr Ashraf Sobhy and Egypt 2021 Medical Commission Chairman Dr Hazem Khamis.

They will provide an update on Egypt 2021, with a particular focus on the Egypt 2021 COVID-19 Medical Precaution Plan. It is also an opportunity for anyone to clarify outstanding questions.

“The 27th IHF Men’s World Championship is only a few weeks away and in these unprecedented circumstances, I believe we need to stay strong and united to keep the sport we all love alive and living alongside COVID-19,” said Dr Moustafa.

“I would like to emphasise again that for the entire handball world, it is of major importance to stage the Men’s World Championship in Egypt. From athletes to referees to sponsors to our different audiences, each stakeholder benefits from the organisation of the event in a different way.”
