With the last qualification matches ending on Sunday (9 June), the draw for the Women’s World Championship in Serbia (7 – 22 December 2013) is drawing closer. The four preliminary round groups will be drawn on Saturday, 15 June at 11:30 hrs. local time in the City Hall of the Serbian capital of Belgrade. The draw event will start with a get-together at 10:30 hrs and will be followed by a common press conference of the Serbian Handball Federation RSS and the IHF.
Those four groups will be played in Belgrade, Nis, Novi Sad and Zrenjanin. The four best ranked teams of each group will qualify for the eighth-finals; the remaining eight teams will compete for ranks 17 to 24 in the President’s Cup.

16 participants have already been confirmed to date, the remaining 8 spots will be decided in eight European play-offs (second leg matches on 8/9 June).

Host: Serbia
Defending champions: Norway
Africa: Angola, Tunisia, Algeria and DR Congo
Asia: Korea, China, Japan
Europe: Montenegro, Hungary
Pan-America: Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay, Dominican Republic
Oceania: Australia
