The Pan-American Team Handball Federation (PATHF) have announced the dates and participants for the upcoming continental championships, which are the qualification tournaments for the 2013 IHF World Championships.

The Pan-American Men’s Junior Championship qualification tournament for the World Championship in Bosnia Herzegovina, will be played 18-24 March in Mar del Plata, Argentina. The three medallists will qualify for the World Championship. Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay, Uruguay, Venezuela, Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico and Guatemala are scheduled to partake in this competition.

The Pan-American Men’s Youth Championship qualification tournament for the World Championship in Hungary, will take place in San Cristobal, Venezuela, from 18-24 April. The four best ranked teams qualify for the World Championship. The participants are Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Uruguay, Venezuela, Dominican Republic, Canada, Colombia, additionally Ecuador and Mexico may be included.

The Pan-American Women’s Championship qualification tournament for the World Championship in Serbia, will be played in Santo Domingo in June – and the four best ranked teams will go on to Serbia. The qualification for the continental championship will be held in two groups. The South American qualification, with four spots for the Pan-American championships and with teams from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay, Uruguay and Venezuela, will be played 19-23 March in Mar del Plata, Argentina. The North American and Caribbean qualification tournament, with four spots and teams from Canada, USA, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and Greenland, will be played 13-18 April in Mexico City. Guatemala is already qualified as the Central American participant.
