Following the IHF-EHF Mutual Meeting in Basel on Friday, 6 April 2018, the IHF Executive Committee met for their second meeting. An extensive number of topics were covered, beginning with the minutes of the 1st Executive Committee Meeting in Hamburg on the fringe of the 23rd IHF Women’s World Championship in December. Competitions were one of the first points of discussion on the agenda, with reports on the CAHB Men’s African Cup of Nations 2018 in Gabon, the Men’s EHF EURO 2018 in Croatia and the 18th AHF Men’s Asian Championship 2018 in Republic of Korea delivered. An overview of the 2018 qualification events taking place in Pan America was also presented, before an update on preparations for the 26th IHF Men’s World Championship in Germany and Denmark next January. The 2019 World Championship in Germany and Denmark will be the first Men’s World Championship co-hosted by two nations, before Poland and Sweden co-organise the 2023 edition. The 2021 Men’s World Championship will take place in Egypt. Inspection reports for both the Men’s World Championship and the 24th IHF Women’s World Championship in Japan in December 2019 were presented and discussed, as was preparation for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. The next item on the agenda was evaluation of the 2017 IHF Congress in Turkey. An activity report from the Women’s Handball Working Group was presented, various financial matters were discussed and the progress of the New Markets’ Projects in the USA and Great Britain was evaluated.
