The ever-popular and successful IHF Trophy is an integral and important competition which forms a large part of the IHF mission to grow and develop the game of handball around the world.

The competition gives the opportunity to emerging and developing countries around the world to play in continental and intercontinental international competitions, as well as providing workshops for training and for the further development of coaches and referees.

Africa, Asia, Europe, North America & Caribbean, South & Central America and Oceania take part throughout each competition cycle which consists initially of zonal competitions which are then followed by a continental final.

The champions within each continent then go through to the IHF Trophy Intercontinental Finals, and with this year seeing the introduction of the new IHF Trophy competition format it was the turn of the men.

The competition this year has been busy with all continental finalists now known in the Junior Competition (U20 - players born in 1998 and younger) and the Youth Competition (U18 - players born in 2000 and younger).
