In July and August 2017, the men’s junior and youth teams take it to the court in Algeria and Georgia to dethrone reigning champions France – in both competitions.

 

From 18 to 30 July, the 21st edition of the IHF Men’s Junior (U21) World Championship is staged in Algiers, Algeria’s capital. The world’s 24 best men’s junior teams will face each other in La Coupole D’Alger Arena and Hacene Harcha Sports Arena, the hosts’ venue, in which the final is played.

 

Considering that the Pan American qualification is taking place from 19 to 26 March 2017 and the compulsory place of Oceania being awarded to the Continental Confederation of Europe, the following teams have qualified for the event so far:

 

ALG, BUR, CRO, DEN, EGY, ESP, FAR, FRA, GER, HUN, ISL, KOR, KSA, MAR, MKD, NOR, QAT, RUS, SLO, TUN

 

The draw for the event will be held at the IHF Head Office in Basle, Switzerland on 11 May and will be conducted by Per Bertelsen, Caretaker Chairman of the IHF Organising and Competitions.

 

The 7th IHF Men’s Youth (U19) World Championship takes place in Tbilisi from 8 to 20 August 2017. Georgia’s capital welcomes the 24 best men’s youth teams from all over the world who will fight for the trophy in New Sport Palace.

 

The teams who have qualified up to now are:

 

ALG, BRN, CRO, DEN, EGY, ESP, FRA, GEO, GER, ISL, JPN, KOR, POR, RUS, SLO, SRB, SWE, TUN

 

The Pan American qualification takes place from 14 to 23 April 2017, while the compulsory place of Oceania was awarded to the Continental Confederation of Europe.

 

The draw is foreseen to be held in May 2017.
