The Women’s Junior World Championship in Korea is the first WCH with the revised playing system for the President’s Cup. In contrast to former events the teams that missed the Main Round only have two upcoming matches despite a group phase and placement matches as it was before.

All teams ranked on the same position after the Preliminary Round (4, 5, 6) have a k.o. match against an opponent from the referring group (A-B and C-D) on 24 July. For example the fourth ranked team from group A (France) will meet the fourth ranked team from group B (Argentina), and so on. All matches with teams from group A and B involved are played in Gwangju, the teams from group C and D meet in Cheonan. The winners of those matches meet for the “position finals” in Gwangju, the losers play their placement match in Cheonan after a rest day on 26 July.

If a President’s Cup match is tied after 60 minutes there will be no extra-time, but it will be decided directly by penalty shoot-out.

Those teams were fourth ranked and play for the placements 13-16:
France – Argentina, Japan – Angola

Those teams were fifth ranked and play for the placements 17-20:
Tunisia – China, Thailand –Mexico

Those teams were sixth ranked and play for the placements 21-24:
Greenland –DR Congo, Australia – Hongkong
