As part of the Corsair Hand Caribbean Tour, the first of two friendly matches between an All Star team coached by French handball star Didier Dinart and young hopefuls (under 22) from Guadeloupe and Martinique took place in Pointe-à-Pitre in Guadeloupe on 26 June 2015.

Didier Dinart launched this project to promote and develop handball in the Antilles. In order to do so he asked French internationals and LNH players (French national handball league) to join him so that Guadeloupean and Martinican youngsters can meet their idols in real life instead of watching them on TV. The tour includes not only two friendly matches but also training sessions with the stars. In Guadeloupe, they showed the young hopefuls, for example, how to improve their techniques and explained how they can read match situations to react quickly. The stars also revealed what they did to become this good, what problems they had during their careers and how they solved these.

The match in the Paul Chonchon sports hall was a huge success with about 1,400 spectators watching the youngsters from Guadeloupe coached by Eddy Couriol, former French international and now president of the Guadeloupean handball league, play Didier Dinart’s team (Luc Abalo, Patrice Annonay, Arnaud Bingo, Joan Canellas, Nicolas Claire, Hugo Descat, Rémy Gervelas, Benoit Kounkoud, Marcin Lijewski, Olivier et Kevyn Nyokas, Wesley Pardin, Bertrand Roiné, Cédric Sorhaindo and Semir Zuzo). It was a great atmosphere with standing ovations each time the young Guadeloupeans scored a goal. On the other side, the All Star team showed some spectacular moves and demonstrated what they are able to do with a ball.

On 30 June, Dinart’s All Stars faced the youngsters from Martinique.
