New rules big topic in the IHF official’s meeting at WCH in Korea
On Saturday the 17th Women’s Junior World Championship starts in Korea – the 24 teams have already arrived in Korea and started to prepare for their matches. Two days before the opening ceremony in Gwangju all IHF technical officials and referees have arrived in Seoul and held their first meeting, hosted by IHF Vice-President Miguel Roca and Leon Kalin, chairman of the COC commission. In the referee’s mini-course the new rules were the main topic same as in the refreshing course for the delegates. 16 referee couples from four continents had been nominated by the PRC (including three female couples from Denmark, Romania and Ukraine) – and mostly from the GRTP programme. In the common meeting of all technical officials the tasks were distributed – for four venues in the three cities Seoul, Gwangju and Cheonan, where the matches of the Preliminary Round will start on 17. July. In the morning of the first match day all teams and the IHF officials will hold their technical meetings in the three WCH cities – and again the new rules will be in the focus. The Juniors WCH in Korea is the first IHF tournament in which those new rules are valid. Aside it’s the first IHF WCH in which 16 players will be on the match report of every game.
On Friday the officials will leave for their venues – and on Saturday the games can begin. The IHF website www.ihf.info will inform you constantly with all important news and pictures from Korea.
