Date: 11/7/2014

From the coming weekend (8 November) on until 14 December, two IHF couples will be active in all divisions of the Swiss Championships. Ismael Boualloucha and Ramzi Khenissi (TUN) as well as Tamer El Sayed and Mohamed Rashed (EGY) will officiate matches in Switzerland as part of the IHF Advanced Referees Training Program.

The goal of the program is to develop non-European referees in European leagues through targeted referee education. After Spain, Switzerland is the second country in Europe that is involved in the framework of this project. In the beginning of the year, referees from Argentina and Uruguay already took part in this project on the Iberian Peninsula.

The referee couples Bouallocha/Khenissi and El Sayed/Rashed already have significant continental and international experience.  For the Egyptian couple, the training in Switzerland will at the same time serve as their preparation for the biggest challenge in their careers so far – the IHF World Championship in Qatar.

A second phase of the Advanced Referee Training project is planned for February 2015.
