The final international participant of the IHF Super Globe (7-12 September in Doha) will be decided in New Caledonia. Four club sides from New Caledonia and Australia are part of the event “Oceania club de champions/club championship” in Noumea, which will take place from 17 to 20 June. Sydney University (Australia) are defending Oceania champions and had qualified for the IHF Super Globe already in 2012 and 2013. “We are eager to take the triple,” said Sydney’s German-born coach Philipp Enders, who again led his team to the domestic championship in April. Main contenders for winning the title are Australian runners-up St. Kilda and AS Dumbea from New Caledonia. Additionally host Poya from Noumea is part of the competition. The winner will be decided in a round-robin system, followed by the final of the two best ranked teams.

By now those teams have clinched their berth to the IHF Super Globe 2014: Al-Sadd (QAT, organizer), FC Barcelona (ESP, defending champions), El-Jaish (QAT, Asian champions), Esperance (TUN, African champions), SG Flensburg-Handewitt (GER, European Champions League winner). Additionally one wild card team from Qatar will be nominated.
