Both Brazilian beach handball teams were unbeatable at the Pan-American Championships in Asunción, Paraguay. Brazil, defending men’s and women’s 2012 World Champions and host of the 2014 World Championship, dominated both competitions in style – as they did not only finish the tournaments with a clean record of five wins in five matches, but without losing a single set.

The men’s and women’s teams of the reigning World and Pan-American Champions had no problems in beating Uruguay in the finals by a clear 2:0 sweep, the women by 20:14 and 18:15, the men by 28:24 and 22:14. In both competitions Argentina won the bronze finals – each against host Paraguay to finish on the third positions. As Brazil are directly qualified for the 2014 World Championships as the hosting nation, Uruguay and Argentina secured both tickets for this competition in Brazil.

Patricia Scheppa (Brazil) and Lucas Moras (Argentina) were awarded top scorers of the Pan-American Championship.
