UFA Sports is an internationally active Hamburg-based sports marketing company. It was originally founded in 1988 as a full subsidiary of UFA group, which merged into CTL-UFA in 1997 and then into the newly founded RTL Group in 2000. After various mergers and acquisitions, it gradually became a significant part of what is now Sportfive Group. The RTL Group sold 25% of its stake in Sportfive French media group Lagardère in November 2006. Beginning in April 2008, the RTL Group once again turned its attention to sports licensing by re-establishing UFA Sports.
