Sweden and sports fits well. Sweden did not only play an essential role when it comes to develop the sport but also with regards to performance. Already in 1954 & 1958 Sweden won the World Championship title and was also predominant in the 90s of last century when they made it to the WCh final 3 times and grabbed the title in 1990 & 1999. The 1st triumph for the WCh host was in 1954 on home soil. Last time many fans of international handball experienced world title contests in Sweden was in 1993: great matches staged in a fantastic atmosphere, accompanied by exciting fans cheering up their home team, by fairness demonstrated towards all participating nations and by the sheer joy to experience fine handball. The host will again organise perfect title contests to let the WCh be a real highlight for all parties involved: players, coaches, referees, officials, the media and the fans.
